Oye Vey
Well, this has been an interesting day. First I don't get up until late, though I won't get into what that is all about. What I will say is that for the novel, Rhodesia: Cats & Brick Walls Don't Mix, things are getting interesting. One night, after receiving suggestions from my editor Jessica Bimberg over at Samhain, I did all that I could to scuttle conflicting point of views (they were alternating every other sentence, not a good thing in the publishing world) and then I realized...
Hmmmmmm....This could use some more action or chatting between characters like say Madison, Rhodesia, and DeShawn who are the main ones. Then again there are a ton of other secondary ones, but I won't go into those. Suffice it to say, there are two other main secondaries, who'll show up more strongly toward the end of the book, maybe. Depending on how well I can insert them in without going over a certain amount of words.
I am sincerely hoping to have this wrapped up before the RT con happens. Then again, since the deadline is May 22nd I think I'll be able to do that. Just as long as I don't get distracted by other characters rollicking around in my head.
My real life muse, a pure white cat, Buffy (adopted and came with the name) was just winding around my ankles earlier. She loves to do that and remind me that I need to get away from the computer now and then. However, right now I'm just taking a breather. The story itself, not including the title, dedication, and other info as well, is at 232 pages and getting bigger. That is approximately 71,150 words in all. From the looks of things, its going to be much longer than that.
I'm also pleased that one adult book as B.L. Foxxe is also accepted over at Samhain. Now whether I hear about the 2nd one any time soon is another question. Probably not, but that's okay. I have too much going on to worry about another contract to mail out this soon, hehe.
Well, now that I've maundered on and wasted time it is back to the grindstone once more.
